The colors of the branches of the worldwide breeds correspond to their ancestral geographic origin and are identical to the colors in Table S3 (see Additional file 3: Table S3): green for the British Isles, black for Northern Europe, pale pink for Central Europe, cyan for Southwestern Europe, orange for Asia, yellow for Southwestern Asia, purple for Africa and gray for the Americas.
