  1. F values were obtained by REML analysis with body weight, hatch, total eggs and eggs in the 3 days before death as fixed effects, and sire and dam as random effects. Effect sizes are quoted relative to the reference homozygote only for the SNPs that had a nominal significance level lower than 0.05. If corrected for multiple testing and taking the identification of seven blocks containing 23 SNPs using Haploview [40] into account, then the significance after Bonferroni correction should be set at 0.003.
