  1. The genotypic values are the sum of the additive effect at locus F, and the epistatic effect between loci F and G. The sign in front of the additive effect depends on the genotype at locus F, whereas the sign in front of the epistatic effect depends on the genotype at loci F and G. For simplicity, it is assumed that G has no additive effect
