The region of the brain sampled does not significantly alter the relative abundance of C1 in goats. Cortex, cerebellum and (or) brainstem from a subset of goats were assessed by immunoblot using two different prion protein-specific antibodies. Brain region associated differences in percentage of C1 were assessed using beta regression (PROC GLIMMIX; SAS version 9.4, SAS Institute Inc., Cary, NC, USA). There were no significant differences due to the brain region sampled, the antibody used for detection (e.g. F99/97.6.1 versus FH10), or the interaction between brain region and antibody (p > 0.05)
